How to Dress From Day to Night

Hey Beautiful Friends,

As busy humans living in this chaotic world we are constantly moving from place to place throughout the day. Sometimes (like most if you are me…) it’s difficult to go home and conduct a full outfit change before going out with friends or on a date after a long day. Here are some ideas of how to look cute during the day and easily transition to a night-time look with a few changes in your wardrobe!

1

Day: Keep your day outfit causal and cute while running out and about.  Integrate a classic white button down with your favorite pair of denim shorts and strappy sandals {I adore espadrilles.} Roll the sleeve to accentuate your waist and then add accessories to finish the concept with your trusty tote and stylish fedora.

Night: Take your casual look to glam by trading out your sandals with a pair of colorful strappy heels, add a striped graphic wristlet and fun statement necklace worn like a collar around the nape of the shirt.

Day: Professional attire for any women should always include a black blazer paired with an essential white, silk blouse underneath. In addition, add a knee length {or just above the knee if you have great legs} and a well tailored pencil skirt. A suede nude heal is all the rage which partners well with your “pop of color necklace” of choice. Make sure you have your fashion forward work tote.

Night: Take your hard working butt out for the night! With a simple switch into dark wash jeans and a fun metallic clutch, no one will ever know you just got off work. Then to make things more fun, coat your lips with a versatile gloss to adorn your unforgettable pout.

Day: When styling your knee-length or tea-length skirt pair it up with your favorite graphic tee. Next, step into a playful  pair of patterned heels coupled with dramatic sunglasses to grab every one’s attention for the day.

Night: Your skirt and shoes are your statement pieces for tonight. With a dressy blouse and cute accessories, you’ll look like a celeb at your dinner party. Don’t forget a royal blue statement clutch for that extra punch to your look!

Hope these fun and simple ideas help your day wardrobe stay easy but still stylish when going out! How do you transition your wardrobe from day to night ? We would love to hear about your tricks.

Hey y’all!

My name is Hanna, and I am Jen’s new intern. I was born and raised in Austin, Texas, and I am currently attending school at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas as a Fashion Merchandising major. I have always had a passion for fashion {with a slight shopping addiction} since I was little. I have found my style inspirations from fashion magazines, celebrities, and social media. Even though my style includes trying the new trends, I always tend to fall back on my preppy and timeless American look.

Facts about me: My favorite color is pink. My favorite movie when I’m sick or sad is Legally Blonde. I love to travel anywhere and everywhere, and I can never say no to coffee or brunch.

Trends at Any Age: Pantone Color of the Year

Screen Shot 2016-04-15 at 2.34.09 PM

The Pantone Color for 2016 actually includes two lovely shades: Rose Quartz and Serenity Blue. According to Pantone, the warmer rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue combine to reflect a sense of soothing order and peace. These two colors perfectly compliment each other when combined in an outfit evoking a sense of calm and restfulness.

In today’s post, I put together 4 outfits that are age appropriate and easy to style with several wardrobe essentials including white jeans, wedges, dark denim jeans, and fun accessories. And fabulous news– these colors are flattering for any age with any body type.

I often hear the common phrase, “Pastels don’t work for my skin tone.” Combining the right top that breaks up the solid pastel shade {like the oversized buffalo plaid shirt combining white and pale blue}often does the trick.  Then there is always good ole self-tanner {my favorite} to bronze your skin if you are pale like me!

Holiday Style Tips and Incentives Just for You

Forever Styled Family and Friends,

2015 has been an amazing year of new beginnings and encouraging style worth flaunting! I am so thankful to those of you who were an important part of my success. Your support through your referrals and purchases has been vital to growing my business and surpassing my goals.

To say thank you as the holidays quickly approach, I wanted to relay 5 quick style tips to keep your wardrobes bright. Enjoy the special promotions below as well!

Holiday Style Tips

1.} Tights are NOT pants: Let’s remember when you are out {that is, in public my friends} doing your holiday shopping or traveling in the airports that your yoga/spandex pants are reserved for just that…YOGA. For some reason, there is an epidemic sweeping the nation that has subtlety inferred that tights or athletic pants can be worn in lieu of a traditional skinny jean. Let’s just say—if you get the urge…at least cover up your rear with a tunic style top or sweatshirt.

2.} The Power of a Statement Necklace and a Fur Vest: The easiest way to jazz up a basic collared shirt {on trend: plaid, denim, or polka dot} is to add a colorful and/or metallic statement necklace, or cluster of pearls around the collar. Top with a fur vest partnered with a straight leg dark denim jean with a rolled cuff and ankle bootie to complete the look.

3.} Happy Hands Make for Happy Style: Make sure your nails are manicured over the holidays. A fun nail color like OPI’s Muir Muir on the Wall can serve as the perfect accessory for any great outfit!

4.} RSVP and Dress Accordingly: If you receive a holiday party invitation {either printed or electronically}, make sure to RSVP promptly to reflect good etiquette. Also, pay attention to what the dress code may entail. Email me if you have questions about what qualifies Cocktail Attire, Business Casual, Texas Chic and the like: jen@foreverstyled.com

5.} Inspiration from Edith Head: “Your dresses should be tight enough to show you’re a woman and loose enough to show you’re a lady.”

5 Wearable Spring Trends!

Anticipating spring trends is always fun. Are you as ready as I am to retire my long johns and give my white legs some breathing room? Here are some of my favorite picks for spring 2015:

Screen Shot 2015-03-23 at 12.18.22 PM

1.} Chambray Popover Shirtdress {Madewell}: Denim is all the rage this season so be sure to add this easy to style dress to your list of spring essentials. This is the perfect fuss-free solution for every body type. Cinch your waist with a woven belt to define your curves.  Add a cute pair of leggings for a different spin.

2.} Tropical Stripe Burnout T {Gap}: Although prints are personal, all things tropical are making headlines this season. Channel your inner Tommy Bahama and look sheik.

3.} Vince Camuto Lorin Drawstring Tote {Nordstrom}: A bucket style handbag is a smart addition to your everyday list of wardrobe essentials. While on trend, this classic shape will hold the test of time given its neutral color and practical design.

4.} Lace up Wedges {Tommy Hilfiger}: Comfy. Affordable. Need. These three words subtly suggests you CAN and should buy these shoes. Espadrilles are back baby and look sophisticated even with a pair of casual shorts or dressed up with a maxi skirt.

5.} Faded Gingham Shirt {J Crew}: Piggy backing on the buffalo plaid of last season, the smaller checked gingham alternative emerges as a must have. For both men and women alike, finally a wearable trend for everyone.

Hope these spring trends we love inspire you. What are you digging? Join the conversation and give us your favorites.

STYLE PEACE,
